$100 WeeUsables Spring Wardrobe Challenge

After the record breaking winter we had here in Pennsylvania, and being buried under 3 ft. of snow, Jack and I could not be more ready for the warmer months to come.  The signs of Spring are all around us, and a change of season means it's time to freshen up that closet!  If you'll remember, in the fall Jack and I built a Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe.  If you're new to the blog be sure to check it out here.  The rules were pretty simple. Select staple wardrobe pieces that could be worn multiple ways, and keep the price tag to a minimum.  All of the items in my capsule wardrobe were purchased on sale, thrifted, found on Poshmark, or came from my Etsy shop Farview and 42nd Vintage. Jacks clothes were all purchased on sale, hand me downs from his cousins, or thrifted.

If you're local to the Lancaster area, and have kids, then you've surely heard of the massive semi annual consignment sale, WeeUsables.  WeeUsables is a highly anticipated children's consignment event held in the spring and fall in Lancaster and York counties.  Since 2011, WeeUsables has been giving local parents and grandparents the opportunity to not only purchase gently used children's clothing, toys, and books, but also sell their items and earn a little extra cash.  Admission is *free, and grants you access to over 100,000 children's items at a fraction of the original cost.  I heard about the sale through a friend when I was pregnant with Jack, and have been scoring some serious deals ever since.  Buzz around the event is gearing up once again as this years sale is coming up April 7-9 in Lancaster and April 21-23 in York.

We found a lot of cute pieces for Jacks Fall Capsule Wardrobe at WeeUsables.

So when owner Lori Hartmann challenged us find an entire Spring wardrobe for Jack for under $100, we said bring it on!

When shopping for a new wardrobe, be it for yourself or for your child, it's always best to go in with a plan.  Looking back to my first experience at WeeUsables, I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of stuff, especially being a first time mama.  So I came up with a checklist of must have items for your children's spring wardrobe, to help you stay on track while you're out shopping.

Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Day 21

It's Day 21 of the Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge, and my favorite suede shorts are back.  I found these Topshop shorts on Poshmark, an amazing app that let's you buy and sell your clothes. I tell just about everyone I know about this app, because not only have I scored some major deals, I've also made some decent money! Perfect for SAHM's, broke college students, or really anyone trying to make room in their closet, and make a little cash.  Download the app and use promo code BPTVS, to get $5 towards you're first purchase!

I'm also wearing an H&M striped tee, a faux leather vest from bebe, black tights, and Black cap toe booties from DSW.

Jack is wearing my favorite glow in the dark Boo shirt from Weeusables, Baby Gap grey skinny jeans, and baby Chuck Taylor's.

Mama and Me Capsule Wardobe Challenge: Day 20

Heading into the home stretch for the 30 Day Capsule Wardrobe Challenge! It's Day 20, and I'm trying really hard to stick to the original 30 pieces I chose for the season. The great thing about a capsule collection is just when you thought you've styled something every way you could, you find an accessory that completely changes the whole look.

Today I threw on my favorite vintage plaid scarf, with my thrifted cashmere sweater, black Old Navy skinny jeans, and tan Nine West booties from 6pm.com.

Jack is wearing his Baby Gap corduroy overalls, with a gite collard onsie from Jack and Jane. We were playing around at the park, so naturally the shoes didn't last long.

Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Day 19

A beautiful, chilly day again for Day 19 of the Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge.  Hopefully the end of October stays relatively mild, or else I'm throwing Jack in his fleece bear suit for the rest of the challenge!

Today I'm wearing my polka dot blouse from H&M with a Gap, cashmere blend boyfriend cardigan, from Poshmark, my Old Navy black skinny jeans, and snakeskin loafers.

Jack is wearing all Gap. His hoodie we found at Weeusables, a kids consignment event in Lancaster, PA. His black linen shoes are fleece lined and so well made. They are from a shop called Lil Sweetie Pies on Etsy. Definitely check them out for cute, affordable baby shoes!

Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Day 18

Feeling all nostalgic on Day 18 of the Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge.  Last fall at this time, I took a 30 Day Maternity Style Challenge, and I still look back on those pictures of my Babes Jack in my belly with such fondness.  During the challenge I received this awesome knit hat from The LB brand, with the brands motto on it.  Protector, Lover, Mother.  At the time I thought I knew what it meant to be all of those things.  But after 9 months, I can now say I fully understand.  I would go to the ends of the earth for my little bear.

Along with my hat, today I am wearing my H&M basics dress, my Old Navy utility vest from Poshmark, black tights, and my black booties from DSW.

Jacks quilted lined plaid coat from Baby Gap screams Jordan Catalano, and I'm kind of obsessed with it.  He's wearing it along with his Baby Gapy grey skinnies, and Lil Sweetie Pies black linen booties.

Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge: Day 17

It's Day 17 of the Mama and Me Capsule Wardrobe Challenge, and the weather in Lancaster County is cray!  It's been chilly all day, and right after taking these pictures it started sleeting! I love the winter, but I am NOT ready for it yet! Can't a girl get some sweater weather before breaking out the snow gear?

Today I'm wearing my softest angora sweater I bought at the end of the winter at Forever 21 for $8, my Merona blanket scarf, my Old Navy dark denim jeans, and black booties from DSW.

Jack is wearing his Baby Gap collard shirt, Baby Gap grey skinny jeans, and Lil Sweetie Pies shoes.  He's about to outgrow this knit hat we bought him when he was born, but I think we can make it last another month.
